A Woodland Abstract

I have started a new painting. I use acrylics. If you would like to follow my progress in developing this painting, please check back in for frequent updates over the next few days.

Day 1.

Day 2.

I am just taking ideas from a wildlife magazine. This is a little abstract, rather than being a scene. I also use the magazine as my paint palette.

Oops! My sleeve is covered in acrylics!

At the end of Day 2, I feel this abstract work is starting to take shape. Let’s see what happens, tomorrow!

Day 3.

I have decided that the painting is completed. There was no plan with this piece. I simply sat and started painting it and thought I would see where it would go. i feel that it is enough, as it is.

This was enjoyable. I usually try to paint a landscape or portrait but this was simply made of component parts that I was building together and which were in no way realistic. Whenever I undertake to paint an abstract piece, I find that I always enjoy the process. I look forward to exploring more of abstract works, as I develop.
